mikelangelo and st clare

Mikelangelo and St Clare have been writing and performing together since 2009. They create contemporary music that evokes other worlds and other eras. Their songs are about love that endures over time and beyond time, space and distance.

The live debut of the duo was at The Butterfly Club in South Melbourne in January 2010, selling out three nights in the intimate venue. Their collaboration with multi-instrumentalist JP Shilo, MYSTERIES OF LOVE, was nominated for two Green Room Awards in 2011. Mikelangelo and St Clare have toured internationally as a duo to the UK, Paris, Norway and Croatia and have supported US singer Amanda Palmer at the Sydney Opera House (2010, 2011) The Forum, Melbourne (2010, 2011) and The Sydney Festival (2014).

Their track WONDERFUL THINGS, recorded in Edinburgh with Tim Matthews at… studios, reached number one on the Global Reverbnation ‘Other’ Charts in 2012. http://www.reverbnation.com/mikelangeloandsaintclare/

The same year, they recorded the single OH ME OH MY with Callum Barter at Melbourne’s Bakehouse Studios, and the song reached Number 1 on AMRAPs Great Southern Charts. https://itunes.apple.com/au/album/oh-me-oh-my-single/id500031526

In 2014, the duo has been collaborating with electronic artist Miles Brown on Mikelangelo’s new album MELBOURNE. The three artists have co-written new material in the studio and expanding the collaboration to record four tracks on the album. The first public airing of this collaboration was the track DAWN that was broadcast by Triple R from the Melbourne Now Exhibition at the National Gallery Of Victoria as part of White Night 2014.

One of the songs from this collaboration, CLOSER, has been incorporated into a new short film by Tyler Kuulberg for the Forever Now project. http://forevernow.me/artists/artwork/closer/
